Mend Memorex MVDP1088 Wont Play Discs

Why won't my portable DVD player play discs?

I have a Memorex #MVDP 1088. When I put in the movie disc, it says it's loading, but then says "NO DISC". I've used a disc lens cleaner, but nothing changes. Any ideas??? Thanks.
