Prise off the central pad, unplug any wiring, undo the big central nut.
I'd get the puller, they dont cost much.
If you bang the wheel too hard you can damage the collapsible column and, although it shouldn't set the airbag off, you may cause problems. Removing the wheel/unplugging the wires may put the airbag warning light on, which will have to be reset with the appropriate diagnostic equipment.
It is generally recommended that you disable the airbag by disconnecting the car battery 15 minutes before removing the wheel and leaving it disconnected until the wheel is replaced, but this doesn't work on all cars.
Make sure you have any radio, alarm, immobiliser etc codes before disconnecting battery.
