My dishwasher cycle keeps going on forever?

Usually due to heater element fault.ie cycle is waiting for hot water which does not appear.

Check to see if hot water comes in.(open door after cycle has started ie 2/3 minutes.If not hot and steamy inside then element is gone.
Most machines are cold fill only and also you can look at the element inside the machine,(its underneath the bottom basket, twin element .See if it is all shiny bright or are there colouration marks on the element)If not shiny clean, then indication is element fault.
