Mend Candy 1300 Stops Washes Cycle

Candy 1300, Drier control stops at * (star)?

Our Candy 1300 washer drier washes normally, but on drier cycle stops at the * symbol often - not always. Sometimes if the machine is switched off, wait, back on after a short time it does continue until it stops as it should.
I have cleaned the front filter, and taken the fluff out of the condenser.
