Mend Problem Lights Plug

how can i fix my steam iron?

My steam iron is one year old and it cost around £60.The problem is that it lights up when i plug it in but it doesnt heat up.Can any one tell me if this can be fixed and what the problem might be,i checked the fuse and it is ok.

Thanks for your advice.My iron is still under warranty but ive lost the reciept.

What is the warranty period on the item? I would send it back if it is still covered as it sounds like either the heating element or thermostat is dead.
