Mend Ford Mondeo Ghia X 03 Suspension Noise

Mondeo ghia x 03 automatic?

We have a knocking noise which seems to be coming from the back right hand side. Two garages have had it up on ramps and say there is nothing wrong, but it is driving us mad. It is not all the time, depends on the surface of the road. Has anyone had anything similar and can give advice? One garage even road tested it and said they could hear it but couldn't find what was wrong.

Sounds like one of the rear subframe bushes is worn - not always obvious - these should be changed as a set - a replacement subframe is not necessary as these can be replaced i situ
