Mend Thetford Flush Water

stiff blade operation ?

We have a Thetford C2 and I have replaced the lip seal as flush water was disappearing into the cassette that problem now solved but it is still difficult to empty bowl contents as blade is very stiff and at best will open 3/4 of the way but my wife finds it almost impossible to open more than a quarter of the way. It has had a lot of use in our 9 year old motorhome!
Please help. Thanks

Thanks Cledlyn
I have tried the vaseline as seal was ok and linkage worked fine without the seal in place. Fingers crossed.

1) Did you put the new seal in as per the instructions. It is suposed to line up in a particular way.
2) If you remove the seal does the blade move freely?-if it doesn't you have a linkage problem inside the mouth of the tank
3) Have you tried leaving the cassette with 1/4 inch of rinse water which has 'rinse aid' added after use?
4) My new seal was slightly stiff but it was eased by the application of a smear of vaseline on the seal plus(3) above
