Mend Singer 140Q Sewing Machine Bobbin Thread

hook wont catch bobbin thread?

I am using a Singer 140Q. I was sewing when I heard a pop sound, thought it was a broken needle, so I changed the needle (triple checked to make sure I put it in correctly) I can get the needle to pull the bobbin thread through the top, but then it won't catch the thread after that at all. Can I fix this myself, if so, how?

You need to retime the machine, you can do this yourself and I can attach timing instructions if you email me, unfortunately this site no longer allows email addresses to be shown but type in my address as you say it not as you see it or get my address from any answer from page 25 down, name first, at blueyonder dot co dot uk
