Unplug dtr for 20 secs, then power on at the same time press standby button on the machine. Release this when the indicator light flashes, followed by pressing the up button followed by the down followed by left and then right,. If you time tis sequence right the dtr will show a orange light followed by a green flashing liht then the red light. All this is carried out on the front panel of your dtr, after resetting all the recordings will have been erased. I tried this out on mine and cured the problem
