Mend Garmin c510 Turn Worked Car

Garmin c510 won't turn on?

I have a Garmin c510. It worked fine until i connected it into the lighter socket in my car. Now it wont even turn on. It is completely dead even when I use the USB cable to my computer. Does anyone know what the problem might be please. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've read somewhere that if you open it up, unplug the battery, wait a few seconds then plug it back in it will work. Haven't had a chance to try this yet as mine started to do the same thing today.
