why wont my ceiling light switch off?

i have just fitted a new ceiling light why wont it switch off.

D.I.Y, Lighting Ceiling Light Switch Fitted

sounds like you just wired it up as colours ! if old red and black coloured ,one of your black wires is switch wire and needs to go to positive side of light, probably best to use electrician so correct wire is used ,or chance of blowing fuses in main board .
