How can i fix the wiring on my candy electric oven?

I have just changed the element on my candy F233 Wuk cooker, however i think i have connected the wires wrong as when i put it back on it keeps tripping the power. On the element there are two double prongs one on either side of the earth, howeverthe clips will only fit on one of the prongs on either side? how should the clips be connected?
