Mend Tefal Base Steam Generator

How can I remove a hardened nylon label from the base of a steam generator?

A nylon label melted onto the base of my Tefal steam generator; now that it is cold, it is stuck fast. Is there a safe way of removing it without damaging the base of the iron?
