This may help others with similar problem to avoid those excessive callout costs.
We had the same problem with our Hoover HWNF washer-dryer. It would fill up, but the drum would not turn. Having paid callout £££s for an "engineer" to spend 2 minutes on ours, I asked him exactly what the problem was that he had fixed. He told me it was an electrical connector inside the back of the machine.
When it happened a second time, I took the back off (used a small 9/32 socket or metric eqivalent) and fixed it myself. It was a male/female electrical connection near the bottom left of the machine (viewed from the back). The connection is obviously not not very well designed to withstand vibration and simply comes apart.
When it happened a third time, I reconnected it and secured it with one of those plastic electrical ties (about 9 inches long, I think) to stop it falling out again. Problem solved.
I'm not responsible for your safety, but make 100% sure that your machine is unplugged from wall socket while you do the job. And don't poke around if you don't really know what you are doing. Hope this helps to save you some dosh.
