Why wont my VW Caddy restart for about 10 minutes after cutting out?

If the van cuts out, for any reason such as the clutch slipping, it wont start again for about 10 minutes. This can be very inconvenient particularly if were in the middle of the road and were on a hill. My partner is learning to drive in it and it can be quite tricky as a result.

Sounds like to me that your engine is overheating, you say the clutch is slipping therefore you are making the engine work twice as hard, Maybe your clutch needs adjusting or replacing, Make sure also your radiator and oil is topped up as this can cause overheating as well!
