Can I fix a TV with sound but no picture?

Sounds is fine but there is no picture. It does occassionally come on but mostly not. No picture with cable box or DVD player either. No menu or volume on screen. It is a JVC AV-28F3SJ. Really want to know if I can fix it or how much it is likely to cost - is it worth it when the TV cost £300 new?

it will be the inverter panel that is faulty would cost about £80.00 to buy
