How do I stop my Whirlpool Dryer Scorching Clothes?

I have a four-year-old AWZ129. For a while now it has been leaving scorch marks on anything light-coloured and synthetic, even though I am extremely careful to make sure the temperature is set to gentle. I have just had all three thermostats and element replaced (which cost almost as much as a new machine) and now, 24 hours after it being returned, it has just ruined another batch of washing. Does anyone, please, have any ideas?
