Classic 35 ?

my B&S will start when primed but it will not continue to run, there is oil coming from the exhaust, and could it be possible that the fuel is not being drawn into the chamber.

......or you have overfilled the sump. No more than 600ml of oil in these engines. Check the level against the markings on the dipstick.

Oil from the exhaust? Have you turned the machine upside down? You'll probably find oil in the air cleaner too, and maybe a carburettor clean is needed.
