renault megane 2005 jammed glove box?

i have a 2005 megane too have you tried pressing the button that locks and unlocks the doors because it also lock the glovebox

I had this problem on my Golf - the owner's handbook inside was lying against the latch mechanism preventing it from moving. Given that I treat the car quite despicably I levered it open with a big screwdriver leaving very few marks in the outside trim. I don't notice them now.
