Mend Janome 300E Machine Week Error

how to fix janome 300e embroidery only machine?

I have a janome 300e embroidery only machine.IT worked great up until a week ago.It gives me an error message,saying lift throat plate and needle,I do this but the arm on the back of the machine does'nt move.So therefore it does'nt sew.
