maytag newtune washer mah8700aww - will not spin - reads E3?

We are having trouble with
our maytag newtune mah8700aww. I't
will not spin & it reads E3. Book says
hall sensor fault, Is this true?
Or may there be a different problem?
Can you help? I am out of time and
clean clothes!

Why would you want to waste time doubting the manufacturer & posting here when you say that you need the machine back in service quickly. If they say it is a hall sensor fault then that must be true. I can't see any reason why they would want to tell you something incorrect. Call a service company and get them to fix it.
