how do you remove the agitator on a hoover elite 920?

Twist the pointed knob on the top of the agitator and pull up to remove cap. This reveals a deep hole where there is a bolt which screws into the drive shaft. You need a long socket extension and a 12mm socket to remove it. When undone about 6 full turns the agitator can be lifted out.
