Can anyone explain to me what the vacuum system is doing on the ignition of this vehicle!?! I've removed faulty alarm, got engine turning on starter, but wont fire up. Seems like fuel problem but there are no solenoids anywhere!! Can anyone help please!!!
theres no solenoid on the engine. the push switch by the drivers foot controls a vacuum valve that sends the vacuum to the throttle jack (a piston attached to the throttle lever) to cut off the fuel supply. so if the vacuum fails the engine should remain running rather than the opposite.
your problem might be caused by fuel returning to the tank, prolem solved by fitting a one way valve in the tank to pump fuel line.
good luck

If fuel is flowing back to the tank then that could be the reason it won't fire up.
1. Check for leaks in the fuel system up to the injection pump.
or :
2. The primer pump may have a faulty non-return valve. The primer pump is awkward to access hence may try try solving by placing a non-return valve into the diesel supply line tube that runs from the diesel tank to the primer pump.
