can't answer your question but I have the same problem, I have current to everything except the little resistor looking thing (it may not actually be a resistor but thats what it looks like) If I short this out momentaily the element heats up. It may even be a thermal safety cut out, perhaps someone else can tell me what it is. You can find this if you remove the silver cover at the rear of the machine then remove the heating element by the two retaining screws. You could also check to see if power is running through the thermostat as this is mounted at the top of the heating element
