Citroen Berlingo 1.8 Electrical Problem?

We have an intermittent fault on our Berlingo.

Sometimes, when you open the door, the STOP light comes on. When this happens, we lose half the dashboard - warning lights, indicator lights (on the dash - they work externally) speedo, rev counter, odometer. Car seems to continue to work fine. The engine will still run and the STOP light goes out.

Local dealer couldn't find the fault.
