Samsung fridge freezer - american style?

We have a Samsung RS20 and like other users it has been having ice build up inside the freezer causing food to defrost and the fridge temperature to go up. The blogs tell me the repairs are useless and the real problem is a manufacturing fault. Samsung are carrying out modifications to some models as they are a fire risk but our model is not included even though it has the same faults. Samsung refuse to recognise the similarity but i hope they will pay up if my house burns down!!!

i have a samsung fridge freezer srs2026cvw ,if i turn it of it reaches tempreature ,but that is it ,when the tempreture goes down the fridge freezer does not come back on i have to turn of and on again ,has anyone got any clues.

To my regret I also purchased a samsungRS21N we have had countless trouble and were even told by samsung to contact trading standards! Before doing so I went back into comet to tell them and have had 2 free engineer visits, even though its over 2 years old. The first fitted a new modified back panal in the fridge, things were looking hopeful, then 2 weeks later the freezer stopped working. The engineer has told me nothing is frostfree and simply unplug it as the ice has stopped the fans working. Still isnt working now they're replacing 3 parts. Biggest wate of money, There should be a recall!!!

If your fridge freezer is similar to an RS21DNS Samsung, there is a design fault which Samsung wont officially recognize. A drain hole is too small, blocks with ice and can stop the fridge getting cold enough and can also stop the water dispenser working. The hole has to be either made bigger or the unit replaced. Often, when the drain hole freezes you get a weird noise. This is a fan hitting the freezing ice. The problem seems to occur around about 2 years from new.

WHY WONT SAMSUNG DO AN OFFICIAL RECALL!!!!!!

My fridge freezer has done the exact same thing. I was told to defrost it for a few hours, but I still have the same problem. The fridge temperature is 14c. Have you managed to fix your fridge? Can anyone help pls?

Mine has done the same, fridge man says he cant find whats wrong with it, he changed the thermal fuse cos he said thats what usaullt goes, samsung wanted £45 for every half hour plus parts. We told them to sod off.
