Mend Bissell 1697 Water Leaking Replaced

Water leaking repair for a 1697 Bissell Pro Rug Cleaner?

I recently replaced my brushes with a new repair kit and when I went to use the cleaner, the water leaked out under the soap dispenser onto the floor. How do I stop this from happening?
There is no repair shop in my immediate area and since the machine is not that old I would like to be able to repair it. Thanks
