This is usually caused by the ink waste pad counter having reached it's time for replacement. Every time the printer goes through a cleaning cycle this is where the unused ink is delivered to.
This counter can, possibly, be reset by :-
1, Holding down the ink & paper buttons whilst switching the printer on.
2, When the paper light starts to flash release both buttons then hold down the ink button until paper light stops flashing.
You may need more than 1 attempt at this procedure.
Also the ink pad will need replacing as eventually ink will start to seep out of the printer.
Suggest if your not sure then try a local computer shop. Not one of the big chain of shops as they will, probably, try to sell you a new printer.
