Mend Siemens EQ900 Electric Circuit Repair

What is wrong with my Siemans kettle?

My kettle just blew the ringmain circuit of my house, I took the base unit apart and found the live and earth wires touching. This has been repaired but the kettle will not start. The blue light on the kettle does not come on.
