Mend Volkswagen Golf Transmission Gears Reverse

VW Golf - Missing Gears?

On picking my car up after it was " serviced" - I found it had no "Gates" for 1st or Reverse gears. It was perfect before they had it, and all the other gears are still fine. Any ideas????
