Mend Hoover 700LC Washing Cover

Hoover 700LC won't work/start?

washing 1 x blankett & cover in normal cycle, W/m stopped 1/2 way through Spin dry cycle, removed clothing from empty tub, turn knob to new wash cycle - no start. Power OK, lead & plug top ok.
