what can I do about error 00161 and 00163 on my ibm thinkpad?
i have an old ibm thinkpad type 2635 which i havent used for about a year. When I switched it on this morning it came up with "ERROR 00161 and 00163" and it refuses to do anything. It worked fine last time I used it, but I realise i should have charged it. What shall I do to make it a computer rather than an inanimate object? Thanks for any help you can give
I have the exact same problem but no one seems to know how to help :(

They are setup errors probably caused by a flat CMOS battery (no the main battery).
GO to www.lenovo.com and download a Hardware Maintenance Manual for your ThinkPad. Then work you way through the diagnostics. (You will probably need a new CMOS battery.)
