is a cam sensor part of the fuel and ignition system in a renault megane?

i have a renault megane 1.6 16 valve 04 plate, it developed a fault, would not maintain an idle, unless i kept the revs up. the fault was diagnosed as a cam sensor fault and repaired. my question is the cam sensor component (8200285798) renault number part of the fuel and ignition system.
