Help with a seiko velatura watch?

Hi,
I just bought a seiko velatura watch, i noticed that the second hand does not hit the markers on the dial and secondly the day changes at 1:00am, while the date changes 16mins before 12:00am night. do i need to take it to the repair center or are these problems normal with seiko velatura watch.
