if a cambelt snaps on a ford fiesta diesel will it damage the engine?

yes it will smash every valve in head, poss break the cam shaft

valves will be severely bent and cam probably snapped, bottom end should be ok but will be looking at £500 - £800 for repairs, what age is it I once had an escort diesel with 30K on the clock and 2.5 years old cambelt went big time on motorway. Ford repaired free of charge but I wouldn't have known about the warranty for cambelt if I hadn't been picked up off the M40 by a ford dealer!

yes 9 times out of ten it breaks the cam and bends the valves.
