You need a dial gauge to set the pump timing back up. There's a plug on the pump which you remove, and attach the dial gauge. You then turn the engine over manually and use the fluctuations on the dial gauge to work out the timing. Adjustment IIRC is by rotating the pump body.
The procedure is explained in detail in the Haynes manual. I can look it up and give you the details here if you like.
