Mend PhoneMate 8450 Problem Full Thing

How can I fix this problem?

My PhoneMate model 8450 gives out a messege
"THE RECORDING TAPE IS FULL" ; I put in a new
cassett and get the same thing.
any Ideas? I have had this machine for many years,
and like it better than any I have seen in the stores
today. How can I fix this problem, or where can I
have it fixed?

Only guessing I have BT digital freestyle 650 and accidently set mine to answer only. which meant all callers only listened to 'No one can take your call and you cannot leave a message'

Reset mine using ogm button to answer record. and skip button to the correct 'asnwer record' setting That may be the problem. Don't have email address yet.
