Mend Shower Tap Repair

My Shower mixer tap?

I have a button that I have to raise between the hot and cold taps to make the water divert from the bath taps to the shower head, when I pull the button up only haft the water comes out, the rest comes out of the taps.
Is there anyway of repairing this fault without taking the mixertap off the bath. I do not know the make of the shower mixer tap
