peugeot 406 estate P reg indicator lights coming on together?

I have a peugeot 406 estate P reg which was working just fine last night but overnight and with the cold weather it has decided that when I put an indicator on they both come on. Please help as I really dont want to take it into the garage if I can help it but I also can't do without it.
