Toshiba 52HM84?

I received the Toshiba 52HM84 as a hand me down because after it stopped working my friend just bought a new one. After doing some research on this DLP TV I came across many forums where I noticed all the cons were the same in regards to replacing the lamp.

When I plugged in the TV the LED red and green lights blink like if the TV is trying to turn on but no picture and then shuts down and restarts again and shuts down and repeats, repeats. In your opinion is my problem just to replace the lamp and/or the ballast?

If you can help me out it is much appreciated!
