i bought a vivitar vivicam 8010 today i took it straight out and used it then it turned itself off and wont come back n even though ive put it on charge the red light has come on but aint flashing like its supposed to ?
I have had the same problem...and the battery is in the right way ..it can only go in the right way because it clicks an orange holder on the notch...
alas, no juice flowing.

the camera is useless! i have the worst luck with cameras in the world my last one was rubbish and this one is even worse! the flash is too bright and i cant take a photo at night unless people are standing at the other side of the room! and if you dont use the flash you'll never take a picture thats not blurry. cut your losses and get a new 1..

i had a problem with mine too.
i took mine out of the box and charged it then wondered why it wasnt working.
turned out that the battery was the wrong way round as thats how it came.
Stupid, but may be the answer.
