Have a Renault Cleo MkII 2003 will not attempt to turn the engine over with the ignigion key lights come on dash and relays click when turning key but thats as far as it goes.
Looks like i have the same problem, car now in the Renault garage, i will know on monday if it needs a new key. I will reply next week.

Sounds like the problem that I have, there is a chip inside the key which disables the immoboliser which occasionally goes wrong. I was told by Renault that the key needed to be replaced. Luckily my spare key is o.k.

Hi Sounds as if you have aflat battery.Try jumping from another car or charger battery.If it doesn't start try cleaning battery connections.Failing that it would be starter motor
