Mend Honda 5.5 Timing Engine Appears

Honda 5.5 ignition timing?

My 5.5 hoda lawnmower engine appears to be too far advanced and kicks back on recoil rope when starting. How can I retard the ignition or set engine timing, Any ideas please.

Usually this is a symptom of a sheared flywheel key - caused by hitting a solid object with the blade.

Remove the flywheel to check.
