Mend Renault Clio Engine Overheating

renault clio heater problem?

hi, I only get cold air from the air vents even when I turn the heaters on full. Any ideas? Also a few weeks ago the engine over heated on a journey where it never has before. Could the two issues be linked?

It's a R plate renault clio.
