Mend Electrolux LX Turn Switch Bar

Can I fix my electrolux diplomat LX, myself?

My Electrolux Diplomat LX will not turn on. It seems that nothing happens when I hit the switch (a bar on the top of the canister). It is as though the bar no longer makes contact with the internal switch but this is just how it feels since I haven't taken it apart. Do you think that I can fix this myself? If so, how?

That's a common problem, as we fix them often. It's a pretty frustrating task, if you never had one of these vacuums apart. The switch rocker in the casing breaks and leaves the bar loose. Best to take it to a repair place.
