Mend Ford Escort LX Checked Engine

where to put the steering fluid in my "96"escort wagon lx?

I own a 1996 Ford Escort wagon and I have never checked the steering fluid. I need to know where in the engine does it go. I can find every other fluid but thae steering fluid.

Open the engine oil cap and pour in some steering fluid, because its heavy it will work its way to the bottom of engine and go in the steering rack, just pour about 1/2 a litre in and that will be fine
