my double bass is cracked?

Quit playing it! Any more you play it puts it one step closer to breaking. The tension of the strings pulling the scroll forward is too high to handle playing while it's broken like that. Unless you actually make a living out of fixing instruments, I would definitely suggest you take it to someone who has experience with this type of thing.
