how can I fix bernina sewing machine?

I have a bernina minimatic 707 sewing machine which worked perfectly before going into storage 2 years ago now there is no response when footplate depressed although power is there (light works0

Hello Michael,
Check the plug that goes into the foot control and the plug that goes into the machine, see if there are any black or brown marks, if there are you will need as new harness, if the harness is okay you need to get the foot control looked at.
