easy way to change heater matrix on escort van 2000???

you dont need the whole dash out. take the air vents that connect to the heaterbox off and take the bolts off the bottom of dash. pull dash forward and heater box will move allowing enough room to pull the matrix out. there is a bolt on each side of the heater box above the air vents take them off. i just done mine on a 51 plate. now i know how to do it its not hard but took me a while until i discovered the dash didnt need to come out. good luck.

I had to change the matrix on a 1.8 diesel escort G reg mk3. I managed to get the matrix out of the side of the heater box by depressing all 3 pedals and sliding it over the top. Its not pleasant but saves having to take the dash out.
