I called Hotpoint about this today & was simply referred to the manual which, as previously posted, doesn't give instructions that work 'after' having switched it on for the first time! It was after this that I looked online to see if anyone else had asked this question and i should have known that the consumer would be able to help rather than the 'customer services dept.'!! Many thanks to you all - I now have a dishwasher that speaks to me in English and not Italian!! :-p

Thanks for this thread - the tip about making sure the machine is OFF but the wall socket is ON did the trick! Blumin' technology eh!!

I have a wmud 942, read the instructions they don't work, mucked around a bit, with the machine turned off but not at the wall i pressed time saver , reduced crease's and child lock all at the same time and heard a beep, then turned washing machine on answer language options was there had to press cleaning action to store English, why hotpoint are putting different ways that don't work i don't no but i was stressing for a while hope this helps good luck

You hold the i (info) button and delayed start button simultaneously for five seconds, then the screen reverts to the language choice page. The machine needs to be switched on.
This also works for a Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXD169PM.

Just hold the three buttons under the display until you hear a beep!
Note that the machine have to be OFF.

Found out by reading the manual...doh!!
